…And so it begins…

Standard

I so desperately want this blog to work out for the best.

Truthfully, I’m writing this blog because I’m too much of a chickenshit to share my poems with most people I know. I’m hoping this blog will be a way to get honest feedback about them, without offending anyone I know, as some of my poetry can be pretty personal and BOOM in your face. Because I’m such a chickenshit, I’ll be changing the names of everyone I know for use on here/in my poetry. Too risky for anyone finding out my true chickenshit identity! I feel like I’ve used that word a lot. You’ll have that. Chickenshit chickenshit chickenshit.

I’m sure I’ll journal a little bit as well on this blog, though I prefer to do that very privately, and with pen and paper. There’s just something much more therapeutic & enjoyable about actually handwriting something–a better feeling than any lousy keyboard could ever give me!

Okay, now that I’ve got my justification out there for why I need a blog (even though my best friend, Dakota, told me over and over I didn’t need to explain WHY I’m keeping a blog), we can move on to some exciting things… let’s see…

FUN FACTS:

-I have never broken any bone in my body (*knocks on wood*)

-All of the pet fish I’ve had over the years have died horrible deaths.

-Political views: Peace & Equality

-Religious views: Kindness & open-mindedness

-People who inspire me: John Lennon, Keri Smith, Sabrina Ward Harrison, Conor Oberst, Ethel Kennedy, Brooks Strause, Charles Bukowski, Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, E.E. Cummings, Charles Dickens, Henry Darger, and Orly Avineri.

That should be enough rambling for now. On to posting poetry!
